AT THE SCHOOL KITCHEN

Hello everybody!

Today we have been at the school kitchen with Antonio Del Rio, the Chef manager of Catergest. He showed us the warehouse they have,where we could see many products.
We were inside the big refrigerators where they kept all the food (pork,beef,chicken,vegetables.......and so on).
Then we  stayed with the cooks that were preparing our lunch (thick vegetable and fried eggs with tomato). Antonio gave us some delicious biscuits and a bar of chocolate.It was an interesting experience!

WE IMPROVE OUR WRITING

Hello!

We have been practicing our writing making an open dictation.We practice with numbers,our names and vocabulary paying attention to the words related to this Unit of Inquiry "Around the table"

We played a game on the PDI,about keeping food cool and making a balanced diet. You can play  clicking on the right hand side of the blog.

ST ESTANISLAO DE KOSTKA´S DAY

Hello everybody!

Last Friday it was the patron saint of the school St Estanislao de Kostka. All the students were very nervous because they knew they were going to play games in the school yard and besides that they were eager to eat chestnuts afer lunch.
The weather was fine  till midday, then it changed but we kept going on with games in the class.The chestnuts were delicious !!!

We also drink a little of coke with our lunch

THE THREE LITTLE PIGS

Good afternoon!

Last Thursday we went to "Pazo da Cultura" to see the performance of "The three little pigs" They enjoyed a lot with the play.The pigs were very funny and the wolf was perfect in his role.Ana Cancela and Mariña Filgueira helped  on the stage.
Later we had  a picnic and walked by " La Xunqueira".

A DEBATE ABOUT BEING HEALTHY

Hello !

We had a week full of activities. On Wednesday morning Iris´s father,Jesús, came to the school.He is an expert in nutrition that talked about the importance of having a healthy diet.It is very good to have 5 meals a day.Breakfast is one of the most important .We should eat a piece of fruit or a juice,milk with cereals or a toast and two nuts or almonds.It would be perfect.He also talked about the importance of having fruits and vegetables accompanied by meat (chicken,rabbit...) or fish.He emphasized that sweets and products which contain much sugar don´t give us anything.They learnt a lot.

Then, we pactice some games on the PDI. The game was about selecting the products and placed them on the appropriate group.

Hello !

We have already started the Unit of Inquiry " Around the table".
We learnt how important is to have a balanced diet and to eat  a little from all the groups of food. We saw different fruits and vegetables and they made with dough their favourite dishes. The Italian food was one of their favourite !

HALLOWEEN AND ENGLISH WEEK

Last week it was very spooky and amusing. We learnt new things about Wales, the country we had to investigate. We saw where it is placed,how it is  the country flag (they coloured it  with the red dragon) and many other things.
Apart from that, we decorated pumkins,bats and disguised boys and girls with Halloween costumes. On Friday afternoon we had our party at school . There were skeletons,witches, vampires...



They spent a nice time and the teachers, too
